About Char Dham Yatra 2021

Uttarakhand state which is on Himalaya and known as “Devbhoomi” because there are so many Hindu temples in this state. The circuit of chardham yatra is in Garhwal region of Himalayas. The four most spiritual and sacred temple i.e  Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath are commonly known as chota char dham or char dham.

Each temple is dedicated to specific  God or Goddess. Yamunotri which is origin place of River Yamuna and dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, Gangotri which is origin of River Ganga and located on the bank of river Bhagirathi (another name of Ganga) dedicated to Goddess Ganga. Kedarnath temple or Kedarnath Dham  is dedicated to Lord Shiva, It is northernmost Jyotirlinga situated on the bank river Mandakini.  Badrinath Temple or Badrinath Dham is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.it is near the river Alaknanda. According to ancient Mythology Lord Vishnu has done here meditation and temple is known as “Badrivishal”.

    Does char Dham yatra is difficult ?

    No, Char dham yatra is not difficult. Senior citizen with reasonable health, ladies , and child can also visit. All dham has proper road facility only kedarnath has trek of 16 km.

    Note- Senior citizen must consult doctor before going on tour.

    What is the best time to visit char dham yatra ?

    May and June is the best time for tour . In late July month there is chance of Landslide and road block due to heavy rainfall. It is one of the famous north India Pilgrimage tour. Natural beauty and Temples attract large no. of tourists.

    As char dham temple is in Himalayan region. All the temples are on mountains. Generally it starts from Haridwar. The Journey starts from Yamunotri then Proceeding to Gangotri then Kedarnath and finally Badrinath.     When does char dham yatra starts and ends ?

    Every year Char Dham Yatra begins from April or May month. Gangotri and Yamunotri opens on Akshaya Tritiya.  Opening dates of kedarnath  announces in Maha shivRatri and Badrinath is announces on Vasant Panchami every year. Char Dham remain open till Diwali after Diwali it closes for 5-6 months.

     

    what are important things to carry on Char Dham Yatra?

    Char dham temples are situated on high Altitude so, there are cold climate. You can feel pleasant in day time, But cold in Night. You may also experience rain during yatra. It is advisable to carry Heavy woollen clothes, Jackets, Sweater, Gloves, woollen Socks, Woollen Caps, Good Walking shoes which has Grips, slippers and sandals. Also carry Raincoat and First aid Kits and Torch. Please Carry mosquito repellent and lotion to avoid mosquito.

    If you take regular medicine please carry sufficient amount of medicine, emergency medicine and Doctors prescription.
